Knowing the pressure drop you get in a geoenergy system is crucial to getting an efficient system. If the pressure drop is higher than the pumps can handle, it will cause the heat pump to have a lower flow than what it is designed for. Since today we generally drill much deeper than we did 10 years ago, larger collectors are required to have a manageable pressure drop.
